These days, there's a ton of information on the Internet about how you can de-stress and get healthy. So much so that it's hard to know what's credible and what's not. Recently, a few of my clients asked where they could head on the Web to learn more about changing some of their not-so-healthy habits. So, I shared some of my favorite websites and blogs with them and thought you might want to scope them out, as well. Here they are in no particular order:

http://www.zenhabits.net

This award-winning blog by author Leo Babauta is a true gem. Recently the winner of Whakate's Best Blog Award in the category of Personal Effectiveness, Zen Habits covers everything from being more productive to simplifying your life, to eating healthy meals, to becoming organized and implementing good habits that save you time and money. And believe it or not, I'm not earning a commission on this little infomercial, although Babauta does offer a handsome fee to "affiliates" interested in helping him sell some of his products.

Authored by Mayo Clinic oncologist Edward T. Creagan, MD, this blog offers some helpful tips on how to better manage stress, as well as some inspirational stories about overcoming personal "limitations."

http://www.realage.com

I'm a big fan of Realage.com because it packs a plethora of information into one site. You can assess your "real age," find some healthy recipes, get some great ideas on how to de-stress and set up an exercise program that works well for you. You can even sign up to be someone's virtual "buddy," so you can help each other stay true to your new lifestyle goals.  In addition, the website features a blog that offers helpful hints on healthy eating:

In our crazy busy culture, stress is a given, and while you can't banish stress from your life, you CAN choose how you react under pressure. In this blog on WebMD.com, Dr. Patricia Farrell helps us do just that, by sharing information and advice about stress management and anxiety.

http://goodlifezen.com/

Crafted by Mary Jaksch, a Zen master, psychotherapist and author, this blog is quite a little treasure. It covers a whole host of topics designed to help readers "grow toward a life of happiness, peace, and ease." Good Life Zen posts touch on such topics as creativity, personal growth, friendship, happiness and meditation.

http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/

This New York Times blog on wellness offers an interesting blend of expert opinion, leading research, and human interest stories.  In it, NY Times columnist Tara Parker-Pope helps readers take control of their health by bringing together some of the leading experts in the field of medicine and showing readers how they can make smarter decisions in their daily lives.
