Did you know that the value (search impacting) of your FREE meta tags has dropped by 90% over the years? Worse yet...the remaining 10% will be further reduced...eventually to "0"?

Recently a SEO (Search Engine Optimization) expert/author stated " Let's just put it to rest that the Keyword Tag is pretty much dead, "mostly dead", if you will."

Furthermore, the SE's have made the search process more complicated than ever with things such as: sandboxes, DTD's, Meta robots, which HTML you are use makes a difference, complex algorythms...and much more.

Why? Money!!!!! No one owns the internet but private industry does own the search engines - just look at their stock prices. Google makes about $9 Billion a year selling paid for space advertising (pay-per click) and they already have estalished themslves as the premier search engine with a 50% market share...you do the math. Our future somewhat lies in their hands as far as someone finding our web sites.

What can you do? Reevaluate your marketing strategy and budget!

If you are basically satisfied with your web site - turn your attention (money) to internet marketing using or manipultaing the search engines...often referred to as pay-per click. Basically the way this works is that you establish a "not to exceed" monthly budget for a period of time - usually no shorter than 4 mos - the norm is 6 months. Your predesigned ad will appear either in the top area or right column when certain search terms area used...from a "key" miles radius area. The larger the area...the greater the cost. When someone clicks on your ad - you are charged and they are immediately sent to whatever page of your web site you want them to be sent. The cost per click changes dramatically depending on the industry you are in...and the big boys have already locked most of us out due to their deep pockets.

For example the mortgage industry: Due to their spend budgets - companies like Quicken Loans & Di-Tech have driven the price of "a click" to hundereds if not thousands of dollars...where in most cases the average cost is between $1.50 and $4.00, again depending on a number of factors.

There are "internet marketing" companies that will constantly review and modifiy your search terms and ad based on real time data. My advice is - get educated! The parade has already started and we have all spent countless time and dollars in developing our web sites to find out that unless we send someone their directly or do something like mentioned above...who will find us on the internet? Internet searches for services increased 60%-70% in 07' and will increase AGAIN in 08' by another 60%-70%.

Being educated is the best first line of defense for your business!
