Northeast Ohio residents have new place to shop, save money, and do some good-all at the same time....
I have been teaching a class on franchise ownership every quarter over at Corporate College since it opened, and I love being involved with the Key Entrerpreneur Center.
One class in particular, proved to be quite impactful on myself, and on our community.
Have you ever heard of a Social Enterprise? Here is what a Social Enterprise is, according to WikiPedia;
"Social enterprises are social mission driven organizations which trade in goods or services for a social purpose. Their aim to accomplish targets that are social and environmental as well as financial is often referred to as having a triple bottom line. Social enterprises are profit-making businesses set up to tackle a social or environmental need. They often use blended value business models that combine a revenue-generating business with a social-value-generating structure or component."
One example in my industry would be a few of the franchises of Ben And Jerry's Ice Cream. They have created a PartnerShops program, and you should check out what their "PartnerShops" do, here.
