IRS Stakeholder Liaison Assistance for Schedule C Filers
Help for Schedule C Filers
On May 21, 2008 the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Stakeholder Liaison section is offering a free National Phone Forum for schedule C filers titled "Calling All First Time Schedule C Filers." The seminar is designed for individuals, small business owners, industry associations and tax professionals.
The following topics are scheduled to be discussed during the seminar:
- a. Classifying Workers as Employees or Independent Contractors,
- b. Rules for Depositing Federal Trust Fund Taxes,
- c. Owners Requirements for Making Quarterly Estimated Tax Payments,
- d. Record Keeping,
- e. Electronic Tax Payment Options, and
- f. Avoiding Abusive Tax Avoidance schemes.
You can register for the seminar at https://www.attevent.com. After registering, you will be assigned a personal identification number or PIN which will be required to join the conference. Those who have never registered for a phone forum, will need to create a profile first. Registration will close on May 18, 2008 and course materials will be e-mailed to those who have registered.
