Chris Somers is the Managed Services Director at Great Lakes Computer.  Great Lakes Computer is based in Avon with an outstanding 28 year history of excellent service levels and personalized customer support.  GLC helps over 200 small business owners in North East Ohio and hundreds more across the country with post-warranty hardware service contracts for thousands of types of printers, servers, point of sale and bar code equipment.  Additionally, GLC offers various network support services centered around the Microsoft Server and PC operating systems.

Chris designed and directs GLC's new Managed Services line of business which specializes in offering complete A to Z computer support packages that proactively eliminates most problems facing a small to midsized PC network and responds to all the rest in 2 hours or less, guaranteed. This package is designed to offer small and medium sized business owners with the comfort and freedom of knowing that, for a fixed fee, their business's computer network will be optimized for best performance and up time AND staff involvement in the daily computer "fires" will be minimized with a single contact for support.  GLC does this by offering flat fee services based on 4 areas of support:

  • 1. 24x7 monitoring and administration of all critical systems
  • 2. Unlimited remote support directly with all end users from our Avon help desk
  • 3. Onsite services and consulting with network engineers and other specialists
  • 4. Becoming our customer's sole phone call for all things technical by becoming their vendor advocate

Chris has been with Great Lakes Computer for more than 10 years.  During that time, he has primarily been involved with sales, marketing, and customer service, but has also been involved with operations, project management, and has even been known to roll up his sleeves and get involved in a help desk call or a printer repair.

In the past, Chris has worked for Imagenet, a litigation copy service in Cleveland, and ADP of Cleveland.  He has a BA from Hillsdale College in Business Administration, where he met his wife of 11 years.  When he is not playing with his three kids, he likes to clear his mind by working on cars, boats, SeaDoos and anything that makes noise and goes fast!  He even enjoys working on his 60 year old Rocky River home (although sometimes he dreads it!)
