How can I keep my business competitive and up-to-date w/the ever changing technology we face today? Are there resources that I am not aware of that help?

Staying competitive using technology. Yes - there are numerous tools/products that are very affordable but not having a better understanding of your business and your strategies...my best advice falls into 3 areas: Adopt or enhance CRM & SA systems based on a strategy; do some research about yoru on line position and look for ways to improve it; responsiveness & personalization are 2 key strengths of small business and there are a ton of mobile technologies that can fit your individual needs.

I think that is a hard task. Even someone like me that is ingrained in the technology industry, it can be hard to keep up.

A great technology that i use for staying up to date on many things is RSS.

First place to start Google Personalized Pages

RSS is an amazing technology that I believe will be a major factor in the coming years. To make it simple, RSS is a way for tech people to provide you information in a standard format to be used in different ways.

The Google example I linked to is what I use. It allows me to list RSS feeds from sites all over the internet and organized them anyway I want.

So, on one single page, I have news from CNN, Crains, technology news sites, even sites like this (look at the top right, there is a link to add RSS feeds).

I could go into all the great things about RSS and it's future implications on business, but to stick with your topic:

RSS is a great technology to help you see on one page news from 20 different technology sites. More information in less time.

But all in all, it can be hard to stay up on technology. Find a good tech company/person that is willing to tell you what is new and not just what they have to sell.

Also, look at groups like NEOSA that is part of COSE, look for podcasts, blogs and newsletters - signup or get their RSS feeds.

Good luck.
