I don't see too many Posts - is this site active or useful or should one go elsewhere? Thanks

We are a relatively young community and are just now starting to promote our existence. I would encourage you to stick around and watch things develop or better yet get involved and help our community grow.

MindSpring was recently softly launched and the site will be heavily populated after the BIG Launch next Thursday, Oct 18 at the Small Business Conference Networking Reception. www.cose.org/sbc

This is for members, by members. Fellow peers will be populating this site soon. So be sure to check back often and read new articles that are uploaded weekly, as well as contributing to the discussion boards.

Small Business Tools encompasses a wide range of topics such as: free resources for small businesses, improving productivity in the workplace, having a legal toolbox, strategic alliance building, getting paid by your customers, business growth through mission/vision/implementation. These topics are just some of the workshops being held at the conference. But if you miss them, the podcasts of them will be posted shortly after for member listening!

So do you have issues with any of the above mentioned topics? Any tips for improving productivity in the workplace?

Ray - As stated we are in the beta stage of the roll out of MindSpring and without knowing key details or having a specific question - I wanted to take a shot at offering you a suggestion - from the 5000' & technological level.
Tools for small businesses covers a very wide area but I assure you that @ the core of the issue is "Communications". That could mean how you communicate with customers, vendors, prospects and even staff. It also includes both voice & data (digital) communications.
Business tools should fullfill the businesses needs and that is the best place to start. I suggest you conduct a simple analysis of how you/your business handles it's communications needs today. Including software - hardware and even providers. At that point start identifying the areas for improvement which will then allow you to focus your research efforts. It could be as simple as converting to e-invoicing; or as complex as integrating VoIP - not sure but I hope this helps a little and if you have any questions in the future, we would be glad to try and help.
