Followup
How long should I wait before following up on a contact that I met at a networking event? What is the best way to followup with someone that I am seeking sponsorship from?

With networking, follow up is everything. The sooner and better you follow up, the greater the chance you'll reinforce the positive first impression you should have made.

A same day/next day follow up e-mail or brief phone call work very well. With the call, briefly reintroduce yourself, mention where you met, indicate that you want a few minutes to continue the conversation, ask if this is a good time and ... paused for the other person to analyze and respond. In so doing, you'll display 'uncommon courtesy' and class.

Best wishes for networking with more Power & Success!

The best way to follow up with someone you are seeking sponsorship from is to first, establish some rapport begin a credible mutually beneficial business relationship. Once done, you can discuss the potential sponsorship, focus on benefits and value and present a compelling business case. Don't mix networking, marketing and selling. Network first, qualify the prospective sponsor, then sell value and benefits.
