How to get grant money?
What type of grants are available to small business and where do you start? Are there easy processes or people with good knowledge to meet with. As a small business owner, it can be hard to find the time and going after grants seems like an exhausting process.

Although it would be great to find grants for small business, the U.S. Small Business Administration does not offer grants to start or expand small businesses, though it does offer a wide variety of loan programs. While the SBA does offer some grant programs, these are generally designed to expand and enhance organizations that provide small business management, technical, or financial assistance. These grants generally support non-profit organizations, intermediary lending institutions, and state and local governments.

What type of business do you have? How long have you owned it? What will the funding be used for specifically?

Also, we have a great free resource here in NEO to utilize for searching for grants: http://foundationcenter.org/cleveland/
There is also the Civic Innovation Lab http://www.civicinnovationlab.org/ and Neighborhood Connections http://www.neighborhoodgrants.org/ through the Cleveland Foundation.

Good luck in your searches!
