One of the most complex challenges for small businesses to becoming more energy efficient is the often complex relationship between tenants and property owners, commonly referred to as the renters’ dilemma.  Because the costs and benefits of energy efficiency are disproportionately shared between the parties in most rental situations, there is often little incentive for either party to actively pursue it.  Despite these challenges, there are ways for commercial renters to experience the many benefits of energy efficiency.
