Leaders see problems as just another obstacle to overcome.  Many look at problems as opportunities of different sizes ranging from pebbles, to stones, to boulders to mountains with none being unattainable.  Having the right mind set in approaching problems can have a surprising affect on the end result.  Most leaders are also good at problem solving but sometimes leave bodies in their wake due to their attitude and or mental approach.

5 things you can do to help:

  • Be flexible
  • Be open-minded
  • Be patient
  • Be persistent
  • Be smart and raise your hand when help is needed

Some do not resolve their problems and carry them around - people can tell when you have that baggage.  Emerson: "It is a lesson in which all history teaches wise men, to put trust in ideas, not circumstances".  Creating new ideas and solutions are not only an opportunity to prove your merit as a leader, they can be a great "case study" for your staff to help develop solutions and turn that obstacle into a positive learning experience for all.

Sometimes solutions take longer than expected and with owning a business, problems come with the territory.

Einstein: "It's not that I'm so smart, it's just that I stay with problems longer"
