The RESPECT Act would significantly change the definition (in the National Labor Relations Act) of supervisors by requiring that they spend the majority of their work time (over 50%) in the listed supervisory tasks of hiring, firing, transferring, suspending, laying off, recalling, promoting, discharging, rewarding, disciplining other employees, adjusting employee grievances, or effectively recommending such action - so long as it requires the use of independent judgment.
