As principal and founder of Studio Graphique, a brand development consultancy and environmental graphic design firm (egd), Rachel Downey and her team of consultants help companies and destinations maximize the experiential benefits of brand. With the belief that a solid brand is the foundation for effective communicaitons, Studio Graphique guides their clients through a process of discovery, planning and construction to build their visual identity and message platform. Rachel's project involvement includes research and ideation for the direction of branding projects, based on authentic personality and real business objectives.
On the other side, Rachel's understanding of human behavior and decision-making contribute to the development of effective wayfinding systems. Studio Graphique has the most depth of experience of any wayfinding firm in Northeast Ohio.
Studio Graphique's specialization is in the built environment and has worked on brand development projects with Osborn Engineers, OSports, Krill, Tec Inc and The Coral Company. Recent and current environmental graphics projects include the new sign program in University Circle, Tri-C, Heinen's stores, Shaker Square, Steelyard Commons and the Lucas County Arena. They also work with many outstanding clients outside of that niche including BrownFlynn, National City and more recently, Entrepreneurs for Sustainability (E4S).
Rachel currently serves on the board of Near West Theatre and is active with many associations including Entrepreneur's Association, Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) and Society for Environmental Graphic Design (SEGD).
Rachel resides in South Euclid with her husband Jason, an architect at Bialosky and Partners and her son, Simon.
