Kenyon Mau is a successful human resources practitioner with a passion for positively impacting an organization's bottom line through the recruitment, retention and development of talent. He possesses a zest for innovation and creativity and has demonstrated these attributes in a variety of organizations of varying sizes, cultures and needs.
Kenyon operates his own human resources consulting practice with a specialty focus in the employee recruitment, retention and development. He looks to find and develop employees who are as excited to come to work as their managers and company owners. This target group is one of an organization's most important assets yet many employees become disengaged over time. Then either their productivity falls off or they look to leave and go elsewhere. Kenyon's success has been in finding these key employees and working with managers to engage and keep producers who will succeed. And they have.
In addition to his recruitment and retention focus, Kenyon is a human resources generalist who has particular specialty in training and development, employee relations and communications, HR audits and policy manuals. Kenyon has applied his skills and knowledge in diverse organizations throughout his career in human resources.
Previously, Kenyon was a human resources manager for a local consumer product manufacturing company. In that role he was instrumental in formalizing the company's HR policies and procedures, as well as implementing the tools and systems to maximize effectiveness. He led the design and creation of the creation of the company's employment web site and applicant tracking system, as well as wrote and implemented its on-boarding program. Kenyon structured and institutionalized the company's recruiting procedure. Additionally, he created a series of training and development programs for its hourly and salaried personnel. Kenyon also was the HR generalist for a subsidiary division, providing HR support in the area of benefits administration, pension and 401(k) and employee relations.
Prior to that role, Kenyon headed up information technology staffing for a local Fortune 200 employer where he staffed half of a 1,000 person Information Technology department in positions ranging from interns up to executives. He additionally staffed departments such as commodities trading, engineering, telecommunications and accounting. Kenyon also gave each of these departments HR generalist support. He was also responsible for the creation of the company's I.T. college recruitment program that was able to grow to employer-of-choice status on its campuses within 2 years of its founding.
Previous positions Kenyon has held have included a team leader position with an international staffing firm where he also trained new recruits in the art of recruiting I.T. personnel. He also was his region's leading recruiter for an international I.T. consulting firm. Kenyon has also specialized in recruiting attorneys for major law firms and companies throughout the Midwest and east coast. Kenyon has also been an hr generalist for a Midwest-based oil company.
Kenyon has been active locally with several non profits organizations getting involved not only in advising them in human resource matters, but in marketing, communications, fundraising and broadcasting.
Kenyon holds a B.A. in History from The College of Wooster and an M.B.A. from Kent State University. He is married and has 3 children.
