Karen Malone Wright is a modern communication strategist energized by the diversity of tools at hand and online to help one human talk to another. As President of ODYSSEY Creative Communications, Karen builds multi-layered communications strategies for organizations, businesses and individuals looking to grow business, find donors and tell a story. Her high-energy presentations on social media and online marketing tactics have educated and entertained diverse audiences, including national conferences and local events.
Karen’s blog, CommunicationsGoddess.net, celebrates communication in every form with an emphasis on all things Internet and the work of professional communicators. An updated version of her e-guide to social media and online applications, Web 2.0: Time Well Spent, will be released in early 2011.
Prior to starting ODYSSEY in 2000, Karen led a notable career for more than 20 years directing communications in diverse sectors: philanthropy, health care, television and print media in Cleveland, Detroit and Washington, D.C.
A Cleveland native, Karen is currently a Mindspring Expert for Northeast Ohio’s Council on Smaller Enterprises (COSE) and a member of the Cleveland Social Media Club and the Independent Professionals Group. Her work has been honored with a national Telly Award and recognitions from the Catholic Hospital Association and the Cleveland Advertising Club. She is Immediate Past Board President of the AIDS Taskforce, where she served for eight years.
